ZAP GRAND TASTING & BBQ!
After a 12-year absence, ZAP
is finally returning to Portland! ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates &
Producers) produces an enormously popular wine tasting event in San
Francisco that annually draws thousands. This year they are also taking
the show on the road, doing a smaller version in both Seattle on July 26
and Portland July 29th. ZAP is partnering with Seattle Uncorked

Culinary Arts Department.
A "BBQ Cook-off Competition"
will take place with ten future chefs having been selected from the
Culinary Arts program, each firing up a grill to create and serve a
delicious BBQ appetizer created to showcase Zinfandel. The winner of the
"People's Choice" award will receive a prize!
The Northwest has only a few producers of Zinfandel, while this grape
flourishes in California and is now being called “America's Heritage
Wine.” “Northwest wine enthusiasts will have the rare
opportunity to try over 100 Zinfandels from approximately 40 wineries,”
explains ZAP’s Executive Director, Rebecca Robinson, “tasting a rainbow
of Zinfandels from a wide variety of regions throughout California.”
Tickets: $40.00.
