Red Wine and Chocolate: Olympic Peninsula Winery Tour.  A scrumptious red wine perfectly paired with just the right chocolate can bring out the romantic in anyone.  The Olympic Peninsula Wineries will take that perfect pairing to another level this year, bringing together new release varietals and blends created with premium Washington grapes and decadent chocolate delights that will make you a better wine lover.  Enjoy a leisurely drive through the scenic Peninsula towns of Chimacum, Nordland (Marrowstone Island), Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles where nine artisan wineries including Lullaby Winery, a new wine destination, will delight your senses.

Ticket and glass package entitles you to a special commemorative wine glass, complimentary wine tasting and chocolate samples at all NINE OPW Wineries.  Online ticket sales have now ended,remaining tickets will be sold for $30 at participating wineries, on a first come basis, during the Red Wine and Chocolate Tour.  This event does not take place at one location.  You travel from winery to winery, visiting the ones you are interested in exploring.  Tickets are not required to attend this event.  A $5 wine tasting fee will be charged at each winery for non-ticketed visitors.  You must be 21 or over to purchase tickets and/or participate in wine tasting.  All ticket sales are non-refundable.

The Olympic Peninsula Wineries encourage responsible wine touring and recommend that you have a designated driver in your group.  Participants who have their ticket stamped at all nine of our wineries will be entered into a drawing for an elegant wine themed gift basket.  The gift basket winner along with a second and third place winner will receive two tickets to the NW Wine and Cheese Tour in May.

Bubbles & Seafood , presented by Seattle magazine.  This event features the Pacific Northwest’s bounty of seafood from salmon and clams to oysters and shrimp from Seattle’s best restaurants.  To pair with your seafood bites enjoy sips from more than 30 sparkling wines from around the world including Washington sparkling wine, Champagne, Spanish Cava, Italian Prosecco, Alsatian Cremant and more. Poverty Bay Wine Festival.  The 12th annual Poverty Bay Wine Festival is your chance to get close and personal with renowned local winemakers from over twenty of Washington State’s finest wineries.  The wine tastings will be flowing and bottles of your favorites will be available at special Poverty Bay Wine Festival prices.  They will have a lively atmosphere with entertainers and strolling musicians, but this year’s event will be all about the wine, with a wine tasting competition, a wine toss and a more relaxed atmosphere for meeting and learning from some of the best winemakers around.

As always, 100% of the net revenues generated by this event are used to fund the charitable activities of the Des Moines Rotary Club.  Complementary parking and a free shuttle service will run from the Des Moines Marina to the Wine Festival both days.  Must be 21 or over to attend.  Please bring your IDs as IDs will be checked at the door.

Caveman 5k Roar and Pour Trail Run and Wine Tasting Event.  The Caveman 5K Roar and Pour is the 3rd Annual Cave B Estate Winery Trail Fun Run and Wine Tasting Event.  Cave B is an amazing place, located on a beautiful property in Quincy, Washington overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.  This trail run wanders through the Cave B Familigia Vineyards, through the sage dotted desert plateau and along the cliffs overlooking the Columbia River.  It is an event for all levels: walker, joggers, runners - a fantastic training run, beautiful views and chance to get out and enjoy the majesty of the land and nature.  At 10 AM prior to the Caveman 5K Roar and Pour Trail Fun Run will be a Carol's Cabernet Loop Kid's Run. Even if the exercise part isn't your thing, they would love to have you join them as a fan cheering the participants and sampling their wonderful award winning wines.  Throughout the afternoon they will be pouring their fantastic Cave B Estate Wines featuring several new vintages on the event day.

Cave B Estate Winery has chosen to partner with the Quincy Valley Medical Center Foundation again this year to raise funds for the Emergency Medical Services at their local Quincy Valley Medical Center.  Please consider donating to give back and say thanks.  All sponsorship and donation dollars raised will go directly to the Quincy Valley Medical Center Foundation.  You may make a donation by contacting the foundation directly at Foundation@quincyhospital.org  or calling 509-787-5367. Sponsors of QVMC defined pledge levels made prior to Feb 21 with be named on the race T-shirts.
