OysterFest.  Oysters, wines, microbrews, live music and so much more come together for two days every year on the first weekend in October. Hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation and attended by thousands, OysterFest is home to the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships and is Washington State’s official seafood festival. The festival also features a popular cook-off, hands-on water quality exhibits, and is itself a giant a food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu: BBQ oysters, fritters, spring rolls, garlic shrimp, fresh cider and so much more. 33rd Annual Feast at the Market.  Feast at the Market is a unique opportunity to try some of Pike Place Market's best restaurants and support Neighborcare Health at Pike Market Clinic. 15th Annual Dungeness Crab Festival.  Join the fun at CrabFest, one of the most acclaimed food festivals in the country. The festival celebrates not only the aquaculture, agriculture and maritime traditions of the breathtaking Olympic Peninsula, but brings food, art, music, Native American activities, and children’s events into one spectacular 3-day event for everyone. Located on the gorgeous Port Angeles waterfront next to Olympic National Park and a short ferry ride from sparkling Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, the event celebrates the world-famous Dungeness Crab, named after the nearby village of Dungeness, and the bounty of the sea. Featuring 14 restaurants, cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs, Chowder Cook-Off, the Grab-a-Crab Derby, local wine and beer, craft and merchant vendors, live music, and many more events. Lake Chelan Crush. October in the Lake Chelan Wine Valley is gorgeous with brilliant sun, spectacular color and the smell of freshly fallen leaves. During these two week-end, the barrel room doors swing wide open and the work in the vineyards comes to the crush pad. Watch the grapes tumble through the press and taste the raw juice that it produces. Get the inside scoop from the cellar master or wine maker on how the wine will taste come bottling time. Mahogany and Merlot.  Mahogany and Merlot Vintage Boat Show is a ‘on-the-water’ boat show and free family friendly event. In addition, classic cars will be showcased on the shore along with Vintage Unlimited Hydroplanes from the Hydroplane and Race Boat Museum in Seattle, Vintage Inboard ‘Limited Class’ Hydroplanes, and Antique & Classic Mahogany Runabouts from the Golden Era of pleasure boating.

Just a few of the featured wines will be Kiona, Jones, Milbrant, Beaumont Cellars, Ryan Patrick, and Kyra.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for the Ephrata community to have a night out on the town where taste buds will be tantalized, music from local musicians will flow, and an immense variety of artwork ranging from horseshoe art, to paintings, to floral art will be on display. At the end of the walk, participants will be able to purchase the wines that they found to be especially delightful to take home with them. The cost to taste is $25 per person or $40 for couples. The Washington Wine Industry Foundation (WWIF) will host its biggest fundraiser of the year with over 300 Washington wine industry leaders and lovers that includes a reception-style dinner, wine from some of Washington’s premier wineries, the opportunity to BYOWine to share, fantastic silent and live auctions, and great entertainment. Tickets will go on sale mid-November and will be $100 per person or $1,250 for a reserved table of 10 through January 13 (prices increase to $125 and $1,500 respectively after January 13).
