North West Wine & Cheese Tour With Olympic Peninsula Wineries.  Say cheese!  Or, better yet, local cheese with the culinary operative for the Olympic Peninsula Wineries’ annual Northwest Wine & Cheese Tour.  Food and wine enthusiasts are invited to enjoy sipping and savoring new wine releases and ciders paired with a variety of cheeses crafted by local artisan creameries, while reveling in the sights and sounds of nature reawakening on the scenic Olympic Peninsula.

Tickets are available online or at participating wineries during the tour.  Tickets for the self-guided tour are $30 and entitle the holder to a commemorative wine glass and wine and cheese tasting at all eight wineries.  Independently, each winery charges a $5.00 tasting fee.  You must be 21 or over to purchase tickets and/or participate in wine tasting. All ticket sales are non-refundable.  The Olympic Peninsula Wineries encourage responsible wine touring and recommend that you have a designated driver in your group.  Designated Drivers will be offered other beverages to drink and are invited to enjoy all cheese samples at each winery.

Remember:

  • Be prepared to show your ticket at each winery you visit to let them know you’ve checked-in.
  • Be prepared to show your photo I.D. at each winery
  • Please do not bring dogs to NW Wine and Cheese Tour. Some wineries welcome dogs on NON-EVENT days.
  • Each person in your party will need to be present when checking in, so the winery can check ID's and distribute tickets

Sequim Lavender Arts and Crafts Fair in the Park – Wine and Beer Garden.  The Sequim Lavender Farm Fair is the premier lavender event in North America.  The farms are members of the Sequim Lavender Farmers Association, local family-owned and operated farms. Lavender Arts and Crafts Fair in the Park is family-friendly featuring more than 100 booths, lavender products, crafts, food, music, family programs, nonprofit organizations, agricultural and nature programs. 

The Wine and Beer Garden is sponsored by the Olympic Peninsula Wineries presenting a very special selection of wines from member wineries and cideries. Tastings by the glass or bottles may be purchased.  This is also the hub for the downtown parking lot shuttle bus that connects all of the lavender events in Sequim.

A full event pass is $10 in advance and $15 during the weekend. Active duty military admission is $10.  There is no admission charge for children 12 and under.  There are lots of free parking at all of the farms, The Farms on Tour are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

The Sequim Lavender Farm Fair is a community sponsored festival organized by the Sequim Lavender Farmers Association, a nonprofit organization.

OysterFest.  Oysters, wines, microbrews, live music and so much more come together for two days every year on the first weekend in October.  Hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation and attended by thousands, OysterFest is home to the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships and is Washington State’s official seafood festival.

The festival also features a popular cook-off, hands-on water quality exhibits, and is itself a giant food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu all things oyster and seafood.  Better yet, your culinary adventure supports about 100 local non-profit service clubs and organizations, as well as funding scholarships and local community improvement projects.

Harvest Winery Tour & Scarecrow ContestSip and savor the flavors of fall, enjoy seasonal activities and marvel at nature’s vibrant palate during the Olympic Peninsula Wineries’ Harvest Wine Tour.  Seven artisan wineries located in the Peninsula towns of Chimacum, Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles will pair new and current wine releases with locally grown and prepared cuisine that celebrates the season, from pumpkin soup to hearty stews to miniature caramel apple hand-pies.  Visitors can vote for their favorite of the “wine scarecrows” that greet them at each venue, explore an onsite local marketplace, experience a winemaker dinner, enjoy an evening of jazz music and more!

In the spirit of fun, the Harvest Wine Tour is B.Y.O.G. (Bring Your Own Glass).  Tickets for the self-guided tour are available for purchase at participating wineries for $30. Independently, each winery charges a $5 tasting fee.   Children are permitted in the tasting rooms, however visitors must be 21 years old to purchase a ticket and participate in wine tasting.  Tour-goers who get their ticket stamped at all seven wineries are eligible to enter a drawing for a wine-themed gift basket.

Chelan Cycle de Vine.  This beautiful ride passes through orchards and vineyards into the mountainous terrain surrounding Lake Chelan; one of the world’s most spectacular glacial carved lakes with some of Washington State’s most impressive scenery.  2014 will be the fifth year of the Lake Chelan Cycle de Vine, approximately 35 miles long passing through breathtaking scenery and visiting some of the Chelan Valley's preeminent wineries.  Selected wineries will host a rest-stops stocked with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.  Drinking of wine at the rest stops will be discouraged.

After you have finished the ride you will be given two (2) cards.  Each card entitles a registered CycleDeVine Rider to One Glass of Wine at Participating Wineries.  Each card must be surrendered to the winery prior to receiving your glass of wine.  A number of the wineries have excellent restaurants and offer live music on weekends.  Riders are encouraged to eat at the wineries and enjoy these music venues.  You may even enjoy special discounts for participants.
